The research and training collaboration is implemented by IFES Institute in partnership with East Africa University (EAU), Bosaso Campus, with academic and institutional support for research, training, knowledge exchange, and sustainable fisheries management.
The collaboration brings together IFES’s practical, community-based expertise and EAU’s academic environment to strengthen fisheries knowledge and professional capacity. It supports research-driven fisheries management and contributes to the development of local expertise needed for sustainable management of Somalia’s marine resources.
The partnership is part of IFES’s broader commitment to research, specialized training, knowledge generation, and institutional capacity development. The IFES profile identifies the collaboration as an ongoing 2023–2028 partnership.
