Small-Scale Fishers Training for Bargal Town Fishermen Community — "Fish for Feed Project"

The “Fish for Feed Project” was implemented by IFES Institute in partnership with Bargal Fishing Company (BARFISCO), with partner support for capacity building within the local fishing community. The project focused on strengthening the knowledge and skills of small-scale fishers in Bargal.

The initiative contributed to IFES’s sustainable fisheries agenda by promoting responsible fisheries practices, improved resource management, and stronger coastal livelihoods. It demonstrates IFES’s community-based approach to building local capacity while supporting sustainable use of Somalia’s marine resources.
