he Sustainable Coastal Livelihoods and Women & Youth-Led Fishing Cooperatives Development Program was implemented by IFES Institute in partnership with Bargal Local Government and Bargal Fishing Company, with local institutional and private-sector support for strengthening sustainable coastal livelihoods and fishing cooperatives.
The programme places women and youth at the centre of inclusive coastal economic development while promoting sustainable fisheries practices and community participation. It aligns strongly with IFES’s focus on women and youth empowerment, sustainable fisheries, social inclusion, livelihoods, and blue-economy development.
The project demonstrates IFES’s approach of connecting sustainable resource management with economic empowerment and community resilience.
